As the Lancer men’s soccer team prepares for an appearance in the Ontario University Athletics final four tournament this weekend, fans were thrilled to learn that three of its members were named to West Division all-stars.

Strikers Michael Pio and Cristian Mayorga join goalkeeper Dejo Olagbegi as second-team selections. This is a first-time honour for each of them.

Head coach Steve Hart praised the three, singling out fifth-year player Olagbegi, who recorded two shutouts this season and a .900 save percentage.

“Olagbegi has had an outstanding career as a goalkeeper here at the University. His command of the penalty area and his reflex saves are without a doubt at a professional level,” said Hart. “He will be sorely missed next year as we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
