“Turning dreams into reality takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort,” said Olympian Jesse Owens, winner of four gold medals at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.
This year’s education campaign on academic integrity reflects that message and shares it on posters available for distribution across campus in coming weeks.
“The theme of this year’s poster campaign is Commitment,” says Clayton Smith, the University’s vice-provost, students and international. “The message we hope to send is that commitment to integrity is likewise critical to achieving one’s goals, whatever they may be.”
He encourages people wanting posters to hang in their offices, classrooms, residence rooms, or public areas on campus to place an order with Maureen Friest of the Academic Integrity Office at 519-253-3000, ext. 3929, or mfriest@uwindsor.ca . Extra copies of last year’s “Choices” poster are also available. The Academic Integrity Office also extends this offer to elementary and secondary schools in Windsor and Essex County.
“We consider the schools partners in education and want to share the University’s message about integrity and commitment with young people,” says Smith.
Get your orders in fast. The posters, designed annually by Rob Aitkens of the Office of Public Affairs and Communications, are always very popular. Read more about academic integrity at the University.
