A blog by the president of the Engineering Student Society provides a student perspective on the impending opening of the Centre for Engineering Innovation, scheduled for September 17.
“This year we will have a little spring of excitement in our steps as we travel to the new Ed Lumley Centre for Engineering Innovation,” Lotus Pupulin wrote in her first post. “We will finally get to discover new things in the labs, learn in the classrooms, and create memories in the lounges and meeting spaces. The way education is delivered to UWindsor Engineering students will change to make the most of our new academic playground.”
She says the building will provide space enabling students, researchers and industry to collaborate on the technologies of the future.
“With the industry knowledge and expertise we will have unique opportunities to gain experience in fields like environmental sustainability, alternative energy, lighter materials and efficient manufacturing systems,” wrote Pupulin.
She promises to post updates on the final push to finish construction and some of the building’s unique teaching and learning features. Read the entire blog on the CEI Web site.
