Her record of professional and community service has earned drama professor emeritus Diana Mady Kelly the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

She was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the Windsor area and the theatre community throughout Canada at a ceremony June 18 at Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall. The Canadian government created the medal to mark significant achievements in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s coronation.

Kelly was cited for her educational leadership, under which the UWindsor School of Dramatic Art grew to be one of Canada’s largest and most prestigious. 

She is a recipient of the Lieutenant Governor’s excellence in teaching award, an Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations award for outstanding contributions to university teaching, and the Association for Theater in Higher Education teaching award.
