According to the Canadian Cancer Society, 23,400 Canadian women were found to have breast cancer in 2011 -- an average of 64 every day. Learn more about this disease at an information session Tuesday, April 24.
Be Breast Aware will feature a panel of experts covering important topics such as research, detection, and treatment:
- Lisa Porter, UWindsor associate professor of biology and Assumption University Chair in Cancer Research
- Caroline Hamm, oncologist and assistant professor at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry – Windsor Program
- Catherine Yanchula, academic director of undergraduate education for Family Medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry – Windsor Program
The free public event, offered as part of the Schulich Windsor Health Lecture Series, is set for 7 p.m. at the central branch of the Windsor Public Library, 850 Ouellette Avenue. Organizers ask that attendees register in advance by completing this form online.
