Feminist blogger, radio host and ad-buster Jennie Thunder will make three public appearances in Windsor on Tuesday, March 6.
At 10 a.m., she will analyze advertisements we see every day and offer tools to continue the critique outside the classroom in her presentation “Rethink, Reclaim: Occupy the Media,” in Alumni Hall’s McPherson Lounge.
At 1 p.m., Thunder will engage in an interactive discussion, “Storming the Media,” on her efforts to harness the media to project her own feminist voice, also in Alumni Hall’s McPherson Lounge.
From 6 to 10 p.m., she will host “Unbutton Your Lips!” a drop-in session for casual conversation and button-making at Green Bean Café. Supplies will be available for participants to make badges that reflect their personalities. Green Bean Café is located at 2320 Wyandotte Street West.
Thunder is one of the hosts of Yeah, What She Said, Calgary’s only feminist radio program. It airs weekly on CJSW, and podcasts on the Web. She will make a guest appearance on the CJAM radio show Milk and Vodka, airing at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 5, at 99.1 FM.
