The Windsor Canadian Music Festival will bring music students downtown for the Phog Phunk Phest, a jam session at Phog Lounge on Wednesday, February 8 at 10 p.m.

The Take 4 series will take the form of a composers’ roundtable featuring David Eagle, Keith Hamel, James Harley, Christien Ledroit and Brent Lee discussing their work and inspiration Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Recital Hall, Music Building.

The Windsor Canadian Music Festival, a collaboration between the University of Windsor School of Music and the Windsor Symphony Orchestra, continues through February 11. Find a full schedule of events on the School of Music Web site.

Faculty concert to join chamber ensembles and electronic music

Works written by the featured composers and performed by UWindsor music faculty will close the Windsor Canadian Music Festival on Saturday, February 11.

The program of “Chamber Ensembles and Electronics” will include

  Nicholas Penny, viola; Philip Adamson, piano
• Night Chill for marimba & electronics by Christien Ledroit

• Orpheus Drones for piano and electronics by Patrick Carrabré
  Megumi Masaki, piano
• WindoW for alto saxophone w/ interactive electronics by Keith Hamel
  Jeffrey Price, alto saxophone; Keith Hamel, electronics
• Braga for chamber ensemble and electronics by Brent Lee
  Jessica Pistor, soprano; Megumi Masaki, piano; Trevor Pittman, bass clarinet

It all starts at 7:30 p.m. in Assumption University Chapel and will be recorded by CBC Radio 2 for future broadcast.
