Three University Bookstore customers were singled out for special treatment during the September rush, receiving their purchases free.
Bookstore staff operated six cash registers during the peak selling season in the second week of classes, and a random throw of the die selected a winner on three separate days.
“The customers at the other five cash registers were given University of Windsor t-shirts as consolation prizes, so everybody left with smiles on their faces,” says marketing manager Martin Deck.
He says Peter Tough, a third-year forensic science student who won on September 13, was the happiest winner.
“His textbooks added up to over $300,” Deck says. “We got off easy with the other two winners, who were spending under $100 each.”
Steve Sunnen won on September 12 and Nicole Little on September 14.
