Laboratory Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that all their laboratory personnel receive a proper laboratory safety orientation before performing any work in the laboratory. To facilitate this, the CCC has developed a Laboratory Safety Orientation Checklist (see below). The use of this checklist is highly recommended.
Laboratory Personnel should refrain from working in the laboratory prior to receiving safety training and safety instructions, as specified by their supervisor. Laboratory personnel should complete a Laboratory Safety Orientation Checklist detailing safe work practices explained to them and all safety trainings taken for their laboratory assignment as indicated by the supervisor.
Once completed and signed by both the researcher and supervisor, the checklist should be kept on file by the laboratory and a copy must be brought to the CCC to grant the procurement of materials from and through the CCC.
