About Us

Career Development and Experiential Learning (CDEL) offers numerous career support services and experiential learning programs designed to help bridge the classroom and the workplace, connecting students with the resources they need to navigate their career paths with confidence. Starting with developing a solid career plan, we emphasize taking a proactive approach to career planning, including exploring various career paths, developing skills, and making professional connections, all the while reflecting on your experiences to allow for more informed decision making.

How We Help

  1. Career Advising Appointments: Meet with a career advisor for personalized, one-on-one appointments designed to help students excel in their career development and job search. Learn more.

  2. Career Workshops: Our workshops provide a strong foundation on various topics of career education and job search. We offer a wide variety of online and in-person workshops to help students expand their skill set and gain a competitive edge. Career workshops are offered each term and are free to all UWindsor students and recent grads. Workshops are a great way to master the basics before a one-on-one appointment. Learn more.

  3. Peer Drop-In Hours: Meet in-person with a trained career peer advisor each week during drop-in hours for introductory tips and resources on career related topics like resumes and cover letters. Learn more.

Experiential Learning

CDEL collaborates with community, industry, faculty, and staff to design and facilitate curricular and co-curricular hands-on learning expeirences that bridge the gap between industry and practice.

Experiential learning provides students with real-world experiences and practical skills that can compliment their academic learning. By offering opportunities such as internships, co-op programs, research projects, and community service learning, students are able to apply classroom knowledge in practical settings, gaining valuable hands-on experience and networking connections. This approach not only enhances students' learning outcomes, but also helps them develop key skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and adaptability, making them more competitive in the job market.
