How can you get involved at the CCG?
Are you interested in volunteering or gardening at the Campus Community Garden? Here are a few ways to get involved:
Get Your Own Garden Plot
The Campus Community Garden provides raised garden plots that are free to use for the University of Windsor and local community. If you are interested in growing your own organic fruits and vegetables, or sharing a plot with a friend, sign up on the garden plot waitlist (available in February 2025).
Participate in Garden Events
The Campus Community Garden hosts a variety of events throughout the year to attend to the seasonal cycle and needs of the garden. These events typically occur once per month and include activities such as making jam and other preserves, growing plants from seeds, bird-watching and wildlife surveys, harvesting fruits and other produce, tending to our compost, and maintenance of our trails and garden beds.
Join the Donation Plot Program
Would you like to grow organic food, but unsure of where to start? The Donation Plot Program is a summer initiative where you can join a team and learn how to grow and maintain an organic vegetable garden. All produce from these garden plots are donated to local food banks. Participants will gain hands-on experience and earn a certificate of completion for this program. (sign up available Spring 2025)
Earn a Volunteer Certificate
To recognize the hard work of our volunteers, the CCG Team awards certificates to those who complete ten or more hours of volunteer work at the garden. These hours can be earned by participating in events or informal work sessions. Please note the Donation Plot Program has a separate certificate.
