Proposal for Funding Request - Communications and Engagement Committee

Proposals for Funding are due no later than two weeks prior to the scheduled meeting.
Meeting are generally held on the first Wednesday of each month, no meetings in June or July.

INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

For consideration by the committee, please ensure that all four sections are complete:

  • A brief description of the project in satisfaction of the Alumni Association's Communications and Engagement Committee Criteria;
  • Budget information (salary, supplies, equipment, etc.) outlining how the funds will be used;
  • A letter of reference; and
  • A brief description of the project including such details as itinerary, activities, approximate number of participants (i.e. coordinators, volunteers, and the number of people expected to attend), target markets (i.e. current UWindsor studnets, young alumni, etc.), geographical region, etc.

SECTION 1 - EVENT INFORMATION & CONTACT
Please select the date of the event or initiative for which you are seeking funding.

Eligibility:

All alumni, students, faculty and staff who are representatives of a recognized University of Windsor department, group, and/or club are eligible to apply for funding. Student groups are required to seek endorsement by respective faculties and/or relative student group bodies. Community organizations with proposals that fit within the Committee's criteria may also be considered.

In addition, please note that applicants may be asked to prepare a brief (5 minute) presentation for the Communications and Engagement Committee in order to provide further information or clarification concerning their request.

In order to consider sponsorship of a program or special project by a group and/or individual, the project must satisfy the Mandate of the Committee.


SECTION 2 - EVENT DESCRIPTION

In one or two sentences explain how this initiative will satisfy at least one of the following Mandate of the Communications and Engagement Committee. Describe how this initiative works to:

Undertake and support activities that provide significant value of the experience to students and alumni.
Promote the valuable services by the Alumni Association.
Enhance the profile of the Alumni Association through promotion and marketing activities.
Please attach a brief description of the project including such details as itinerary, activities, approximate number of participants (i.e. coordinators, volunteers, and the number of people expected to attend), target markets (i.e., current UWindsor students, young alumni, etc.), geographical region, etc.

Indicate how the financial support of this project, provided by the Alumni Association will be recognized (i.e. print materials, social media, event banners, invitations and/or programs, in remarks of appreciation during event, etc.) The Alumni logo will be forwarded electronically to be used in recognition of support.

SECTION 3 - FINANCIAL INFORMATION

The Communications and Engagement Committee approves requests up to $1,500.

The Communications and Engagement Committee reserves the right to publicize any programs which have been granted support.
All successful applicants are required to submit a final report to the Communications and Engagement Committee following the completion of the program and/or special project, along with photographs, if possible, for publicity purposes for the alumni website, social media, VIEW magazine, Alumni eNews communication, etc. Failure to submit a final report may impact future funding.
