Human Resources Management Students

Please note that this information is intended as an overview of some of the various certifications and designations available to graduates of the Master of Management degree based on your program (Human Resources Management, International Accounting & Finance, Logistics & Supply Chain Management). CHRP Designation

The Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is the new entry level designation in the field of Human Resources. CHRPs act in roles that are mostly administrative in nature, such as a contributing role in a larger HR function, or a sole HR practitioner in a small HR function. Individuals in this level would have responsibilities such as supporting HR initiatives, executing tasks passed down from management, and operating at the tactical and transactional levels. They often have titles such as Human Resources Assistant, Staffing Coordinator, Human Resources Clerk, or Human Resources Coordinator. Requirements for the CHRP designation are:  HRPA membership in good standing  Complete of the prescribed coursework requirement (as of June 2013, 78-638-01 - Human Resources Management & 78-613- 01 - Managing Employees have been approved by the HRPAO towards the CHRP designation)  Pass the prescribed knowledge exam (CKE 1 or 2)  Complete of the Job Ready Program  Pass the Jurisprudence (HR Law) Exam Please visit www.hrpa.ca/RegulationandHRDesignations/Pages/CHRP-Designation.aspx for more information on the CHRP designation.

CHRL Designation

The Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) is the new professional level designation in the field of Human Resources. CHRLs can be found in either specialist or generalist positions with responsibilities such as managing projects, programs, and initiatives, implementing plans passed down by senior management, and delegating tasks to entry-level staff. In professional matters, individuals at this level can act independently and would typically have titles such as Director of HR, HR Manager, HR Generalist, HR Business Partner and HR Specialist. Requirements for the CHRL designation are:  HRPA membership in good standing  Complete the prescribed coursework requirement  Pass the prescribed knowledge exam (CKE2)  Complete a degree awarded from an accredited academic institution  Complete three years of professional level experience in human resources  Pass the Jurisprudence (HR Law) exam  Complete the Professional Program  Pass the Final Performance Exam Please visit www.hrpa.ca/RegulationandHRDesignations/Pages/CHRP.aspx for more information on the CHRL designation.

International Accounting and Finance Students

CPA Designation

Becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) is your ticket to a world of opportunities in accounting and finance. These professional accountants are highly attractive to employers and recruiters for the solid training and expertise that contribute to improved efficiency and growth. Requirements for the CPA designation are: · Complete an undergraduate degree in any discipline · Complete a CPA assessment of all educational transcripts · Register as a CPA Ontario Student · Based on transcript evaluations, successfully complete the CPA Prerequisite Education Program (PREP) for students not yet meeting the CPA prerequisite requirements · Complete the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) · Complete 30 months of qualifying practical experience through either Pre-Approved Programs and/or Experience Verification · Pass the Common Final Exam (CFE) Please visit www.gocpaontario.ca for more information on the CPA designation.

Internationally Trained Accountants (ITAs)

The Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation may only be used in the Province of Ontario by Members of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario (CPA Ontario). If you are an accountant who is a member of a professional body outside of Canada, your path to the CPA designation is guided by a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA). MRAs are signed with accounting bodies that have substantially equivalent qualification programs. Eligible individuals applying to register with CPA Ontario from an accounting body with which an MRA has been signed don’t have to complete the full qualification requirement that normally applies to anyone seeking to become a member of CPA Ontario. Logistics and Supply Chain Management Students

CPIM Certification

The Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification provides you with the ability to understand and evaluate production and inventory activities within a company's global operations. Preferred by thousands of employers worldwide, more than 100,000 professionals since 1973 have earned the APICS CPIM designation. SCMP Designation

The SCMP accreditation is Canada’s most sought-after and widely-held designation in supply chain management. The highest achievement in the field, it is the mark of strategic leadership. The SCMP designation answers employer demands for the added value that exceptional supply chain leadership brings to their organizations. Employers benefit from the SCMP’s unique and distinctive competence. Recognized as strategic professionals who provide companies with innovative supply chain management leadership, SCMPs are sought out by employers all across Canada. In 2012, SCMA’s Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation received international accreditation from the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM) Global Standard Board. It was deemed to meet the highest international standards in supply chain education. SCMA’s program was the first in North America to receive this honour, and only the second in the world.
