Graduate Assistantships

Important Information

  • Students must maintain full-time registration throughout the term, must be in good standing in the degree program and must have a valid SIN and eligible to work in Canada in order to hold a Graduate Assistantship. Students who meet the Phase I Tuition Refund Deadline are therefore not eligible to hold a GA.
  • Effective immediately: Full time graduate students are permitted to work up to 24 hours per week. The 24-hour limit per week includes income from all employment sources within the University: GA, RA-employment income (not including RA-scholarship), Sessional instructor appointment, Work Study, Food Services, IT Services, Library, Residence Services, etc. and any other University-related employment.   • Graduate Assistants must apply each term by the application deadline, in accordance with the Article 13 of the CUPE 4580 Collective Agreement.
  • All GAs and TAs hired will be required to complete the mandatory new employee training at uwindsor.ca/requiredtraining and provide proof of completion to Sociology & Criminology Dept.  
  • GA Application Form and provide a copy of your unofficial transcript to gradsoc@uwindsor.ca.
  • Please complete the GA application with the list of all courses for which you have worked as a GA including the term and year
  • On the GA/TA application, the AAU Name is the name of the department: Sociology and Criminology.
