Are the courses predetermined for the MSW On Campus programs?

Yes. Both the MSW Advanced Standing and MSW Regular Track program have predetermined course sequencing which is to be followed.

What are the expectations regarding where I can complete my Field placement?
The field team will be connecting with our field partners for perspective placements following individual planning meetings with students. Students do not contact agencies. Students may work with the field team to secure a field placement in their home community within the province of Ontario .

What is the expected length of Field placement?
The general time frame for placements extends past the academic semester by 2-3 weeks. The field calendar must be adhered to.

Am I expected to complete Field placement during Reading Week?
Field placement continues through reading week.

What are the expectations regarding Field placement?
Field education is a credited course and tuition for all semesters registered is required.
Field education is not a co-op course. Students are not paid to complete the credits pertaining to field education.

I am having difficulties with UWinsite.

I am having difficulties registering for a semester, how do I proceed or contact?

If you have difficulty registering, please contact the Registrar's Office; your Graduate Service Specialist is determined by your last name using the alphabetical listing.
 

Where do I locate my Registration date and time?

In UWinsite Student, click the tile "My Academics" and then select from the left-hand menu “Enrollment Deadlines” to see when you will be able to register.
Note that you will NOT be permitted to register until the time indicated- if this information is not showing, your date has not been released yet.

How do I register for courses?

Graduate students register for courses on UWinsite Student by the deadline set for each semester. Graduate students register for courses by the deadline set for each semester.

Why can’t I register for a course?

Please ensure that there are no conditions of your admission that have not been met (English language score, transcripts, etc.).

Also double-check that all fees have been paid and the time limit to complete the program has not passed.

Where can I view the upcoming semester timetable?

How do I apply to graduate?

In order to be evaluated for degree completion, students must submit an application to graduate.

All students must submit an application to graduate regardless of attendance at the convocation ceremony. Details are posted on the Registrar's office graduation webpage.

Be sure to review the important dates for tuition refund and convocation deadlines for each term.

How do I register with OCSWSSW?

The School of Social Work will send out the Confirmation of Degree form on your behalf to OCSWSSW. Please be advised that this form cannot be sent out until we have received confirmation that you have successfully completed their degree requirements and final grades have been posted.

Please contact the Graduate On Campus Secretary (gradsw@uwindsor.ca) once the requirements have been met, and the form will be filled out, signed by the Director of the School of Social Work, and then sent to OCSWSSW.

Once graduated, OCSWSSW will no longer accept the Confirmation of Degree form. Students must order an official copy of their transcript via UWinsite Student.
 

Please be advised that it can take up to a week, after the end of the Convocation Ceremonies, for the final degree conferral note to be added to your official transcript. Please keep this in mind when ordering your official transcript as OCSWSSW requires your degree conferral date to be included on your official transcript.

The School of Social Work is unable to obtain your official transcript on your behalf.

I require Proof of Enrolment, where would I locate this information?


Proof of enrolment is often required by financial institutions, government agencies, insurance companies or employers. The University of Windsor offers an Enrolment Verification Letter and an Enrolment Certificate. 

It is up to the student to contact the organization they are dealing with to determine if an Enrolment Verification Letter is sufficient OR if an Enrolment Certificate is required.

Enrolment Verification Letter (no cost)

Students are able to generate their own Enrolment Verification Letter in UWinsite Student free of charge if they are registered in classes. These letters confirm:

  • Current registration
  • Year and program of study
  • Full- or Part-time status
  • Eligibility to enrol in an upcoming session

Enrolment Certificate

Alternatively, an official Enrolment Certificate can be requested via ask.UWindsor or in person at the Office of the Registrar. These signed certificates confirm:

  • Current registration
  • Year and program of study
  • Full- or Part-time status
  • Eligibility to enrol in an upcoming session
  • Expected date of graduation

The Office of the Registrar will produce the Enrolment Certificate.  Please consult the Registrarial Service Fees web page for the cost.
