About the Department of Mathematics & Statistics
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers excellent undergraduate and graduate programs in a supportive environment. The research accomplishments and teaching experience of our faculty make us an excellent choice for your degree. At the undergraduate level, we offer programs leading to the degree Bachelor of Mathematics in mathematics or mathematics and statistics. We offer joint degrees with Computer Science and the Odette School of Business, concurrent degrees with the Faculty of Education, and a double major with almost any other program on campus. If you love mathematics but do not want a math degree, you will be interested in our Minor in Mathematics and Minor in Statistics opportunities. If you see actuarial science as your career, then this is the place for you as we have prepared many extremely successful actuaries, many of whom come back to visit us every year to look for future employees. At the graduate level, we offer masters and doctoral programs in mathematics and statistics as well as a professional Master's of Actuarial Science program.
