Departmental Procedures:

  • The Graduate Committee starts screening applications upon receiving them to determine if you are qualified for acceptance to the M.Sc. Progam.  First offers may be made as late March.  We hope to have the bulk of our admission offers decided on by April although later decisions are possible.  You will be notified by eMail directly from the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
  • Offers of admission are made for a specific term, and acceptance may be deferred for one term only. Students wishing to be considered for admission at a later date will normally be required to complete a new application and to resubmit their documents.
  • If no supervisor is available in the field requested and the file is deemed admissible, the file will remain on a list of admissible files until a supervisor is available.  If by the end of the month of August no faculty is available the file will be closed.

Questions:

  • Do you need to submit a research statement of interest with your application?
    Yes

  • Do you need to apply with a supervisor in mind?
No.  But if you have contacted a potential supervisor indicate that on the statement plan.

  • NOTE:  Sending documents and/or e-mails directly to the Graduate Chair or to an individual professor will not speed up the admission process to our Programs.   In fairness to those who have applied before the application deadline and paid the application fee, the Graduate Committee will only examine completed files received from the Office of the Registrar, Graduate Studies Division.
