Health Canada - Addressing Racism and Discrimination in Canada’s Health Systems Program

Health Canada’s Addressing Racism and Discrimination in Canada’s Health Systems Program (the Program) was established to foster health systems free from racism and discrimination. Further, the Program advances Health Canada’s overall mandate to help everyone in Canada maintain and improve their health by striving to ensure high quality health services are efficient and accessible, and by reducing health inequities.
Olive Tree Foundation - Tackling White Supremecy in Canada Grant
- Funding amount - $5,000

The “Tackling White Supremacy in Canada Project” seeks to address the knowledge gap on white supremacist, neo-nazi, and other far-right extremist groups in Canada through research.
Canadian Heritage - Events: Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program
- Funding amount - Up to $100,000
- Deadline to apply: rolling intake
The following groups and institutions are eligible for funding:
- Canadian not-for-profit organizations, associations and unincorporated groups of individuals
- Canadian incorporated and unincorporated municipalities and townships with a population of up to 10,000
- Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit or Métis) not-for-profit organizations
- Indigenous government, band council or tribal council. The Events component of the Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Program (MARP) provides funding to community-based events that:
- promote intercultural or interfaith understanding
- promote discussions on multiculturalism, diversity, racism and religious discrimination
- celebrate a community’s history and culture such as heritage months recognized by Parliamen
Expected results are that participants and communities will gain knowledge, develop strategies and take action to:
- increase awareness of Canada’s cultural diversity
- increase awareness of issues affecting full participation in society and the economy, related to culture, ethnicity and/or religion
- increase capacity within communities to address racism and discrimination
Public Safety Canada - Communities at Risk: Security Infrastructure Program
- Funding amount: $100,000
- Deadline to apply: February, 18, 2024 (2025 date to be announced)
The Government of Canada is committed to protecting the safety and security of Canadians. Public Safety Canada (PS) is working to build a safe and resilient Canada and has a renewed commitment to the Communities at Risk: Security Infrastructure Program (SIP). The SIP provides time-limited funding and support for communities at risk of hate-motivated incidents and hate-motivated crimes to enhance physical security at their gathering spaces.
Province of Ontario - Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant
- Funding amount: $10,000 - $20,000

The expanded Anti-Hate Security and Prevention Grant available in Winter 2023–2024 will help support communities impacted by the recent rise in hate incidents in Ontario, with priority given to organizations that primarily serve Jewish and Muslim communities.
American Holocaust Memorial Museum - Annual Fellowships

The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies is pleased to offer fellowships to support significant research and writing about the Holocaust and related topics for projects that will benefit from a period of residence at the Museum and access to its resources. We welcome proposals from all relevant academic disciplines, including — but not limited to—anthropology, archaeology, art history, comparative genocide studies, film studies, geography, history, Jewish studies, law, material culture, religious studies, philosophy, political science, and psychology. Fellowships are designed for scholars at all levels of career, starting with PhD candidates (ABD). A principal focus of the fellowship program is to ensure the development of a new generation of scholars and those early in their careers are especially encouraged to apply. Faculty between appointments and scholars currently not affiliated with a university will also be considered.

Projects must be about the persecution of Jews by the Nazis and/or their collaborators, or its consequences. The Claims Conference does not accept applications from individuals, only from registered non-profit organizations and research institutions (exceptions for film, new media and social media applications). The grantee is responsible for securing the remaining sources of matching funding. Expenses are paid out on a reimbursement basis. Expenses are reimbursed provided: 1) they were expended during the grant period; 2) they were in the pre-approved budget; 3) they are accompanied by proof of expenditure. This includes proof of matching funds. If a grant request has been previously rejected, one may not resubmit for the same project.
International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance - Grant Program
- Funding amount: Considered proportionally relative to operating grant of applicant institution (matching funds required)
- Deadline to apply: September 30, 2024
The IHRA Grant Program welcomes applications from all over the world and from any organization or institution in the field of education, remembrance, and research of the Holocaust and the genocide of the Roma.
Canadian Race Relations Foundation - National Anti-Racism Fund
- Funding amount: $25,000 - $125,000
- Deadline to apply: Expression of Interest due October 31, 2024, full application due date to be announced
Projects must align with one of more of the following themes and objectives:
- Systemic racial barriers: Reducing barriers to inclusion by addressing systemic racism in education, healthcare, the justice system, public services, employment, and public life.
- Research and education: Promoting and increasing availability and accessibility of data, evidence, and community insights on race relations in Canada.
- Public awareness: Informing public policies by highlighting systemic and institutional barriers.
- Cultural and intercultural community-building: Creating cross-cultural opportunities through discussions and dialogue on race and religion, building awareness, and collaborations.
International Peace Research Association Foundation - Peace Research Grants
- Funding amount: up to $5,000
- Deadline to apply: February 28 and August 31, annually
The mission of the IPRA Foundation is to advance the field of peace research through rigorous investigation into the causes of conflict and examination of alternatives to violence. Peace researchers inform peace activities that inspire visions of a peaceful world.
