Annual Ontario Psychology Undergraduate Thesis Conference

Annual Ontario Psychology Undergraduate Thesis Conference

AOPUTC23 will be held online on Friday, May 12, 2023.

Welcome to the Annual Ontario Psychology Undergraduate Thesis Conference (AOPUTC23)! The University of Windsor Psychology Department is looking forward to hosting you.

The conference this year will be online, with a choice of two presentation formats: Students can choose to deliver their oral presentations via Teams (synchronous presentation format) or submit a "poster" presentation in the form of an animated GIF that will be displayed on the conference website (asynchronous format). We've found animated GIFs to be easy to develop and an engaging way to distill and present research findings in our previous local honours thesis poster sessions. More information about each of these formats is available on our website.

We look forward to learning more about your thesis research!

Sincerely,

Dr. Kathryn Lafreniere (Honours Thesis Coordinator)
Dr. Ken Cramer (Undergraduate Program Chair)
Dr. Patti Fritz (Head of Dept. of Psychology)
Ms. Krista Marion (Undergraduate Secretary)

Oral presentations will be grouped thematically into separate presentation sessions. All presentations will take place online via Teams. Below are some guidelines for the presentations:

  • Presentations must be a maximum of 10 minutes long, not including time for Q & A. Please be sure to do some timed practice runs of your presentation, so that you can ensure that it does not go over the 10-minute time limit.
  • Please ensure that you don't have too many slides for the allotted time period.
  • Since you'll be sharing your own screen for the presentations, you can use any presentation format that you are able to share easily from your own computer. Most students choose to use PowerPoint, but other options might include Prezi or Canva.
  • All presenters should be in their presentation session at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time.
