International Travel on behalf of the University may include but is not limited to travel for the following reasons:
- Exchanges /Visiting Scholars
- Research
- Conferences
- Academic Presentations
- Recruitment Activities
- Alumni Relations
- Any others???
In order to have University liability coverage available, and to claim reimbursement for travel expense, International Travel must be “approved” as per the University of Windsor Travel Policy.
It is recommended that Faculty and Staff undertaking University-sponsored/approved international travel complete Part A of the Checklist for International Travel prior to departure.

- It is recommended that in cases of extraordinary travel risk (e.g. natural disasters, civil unrest, famine, disease, etc.), that the employee contact Greenshield to confirm coverage or any limitations in coverage.
- Individuals with medical conditions should also contact Greenshield to confirm adequate coverage during the period of international travel.

The University’s liability insurance covers faculty and staff while they are acting in the course of their employment.
International Orientation
Should faculty and staff be required to participate in some type of orientation prior to international travel on University business?

Research and other travel may be suspended in areas that are subject to the following DFAIT Travel Advisories:
