Gazmon Tahiri

Gazmon Tahiri graduated from the University of Windsor in 2014, with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Political Science.

He returned in the fall of 2014 to pursue a Master of Arts in Political Science and chose to complete his degree via the internship stream. Gazmon interned at the City of Windsor and assisted staff with research and the development of various policies. This experience inspired the topic for his final internship report, Flirtatious Democracy: An Assessment of Ranked Ballot as an Alternative Voting Method for Municipal Elections in Ontario. His paper sought to determine if the Ranked Ballot voting method is a better and more democratic method compared to the traditional method of First Past the Post.

The paper combined insights and research from Gazmon’s coursework in the Department of Political Science and his practical work experience from his time at the City of Windsor. Gazmon completed his internship paper in December 2015 and after his graduation in spring of 2016 Gazmon went onto investigative law enforcement with the RCMP.
