The University of Windsor, guided by our strategic plan Aspire: Together for Tomorrow, is dedicated to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and to ensuring that student voices and aspirations are heard.
The University, University of Windsor Student Alliance, representing more than 10,000 students, and students involved in the encampment have reached two separate agreements outlining positive ways forward through a series of actions.
Both agreements align with Aspire and the University’s previous actions and commitments to combatting all forms of identity-based violence and discrimination, especially against people affected by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The University upholds freedom of expression and the right to peaceful assembly, ensuring our campus is a space for the safe and respectful expression of diverse viewpoints, even when challenging or contentious. Civil discourse, regardless of political, religious, moral, or ethical perspectives, is fundamental to fostering understanding and collaboration.
The University recognizes this is an emotional and challenging time for many. We appreciate the meaningful dialogue with both student groups and the patience and understanding shown by the University of Windsor community.
Thank you for your continued efforts and support in making our campus a safe, respectful, welcoming, and inclusive place for all.
