We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Christopher Waters as Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor, effective April 1, 2016.
Chris knows the University of Windsor well from both academic and administrative perspectives: a member of the Faculty of Law since 2007, he also served as Associate Dean of Law from 2009-2012. He has earned a reputation as an outstanding teacher and an effective administrator, with a leadership style that inspires and motivates students, staff, and faculty.
Chris has built strong relations with the Law Society and other key stakeholders in legal education, including the Law Foundation of Ontario, the Law Commission of Ontario, and the Canadian Council of Law Deans. He is the representative of the Ontario Law Deans on the Board of the Law Commission of Ontario, and he also recently became co-editor with Prof. David Tanovich of the Canadian Bar Review.
Chris brings to the role an astute understanding of what legal education in the 21st century needs to be, and he will be a champion for the Faculty’s strategic themes of Access to Justice and Transnational Law. His promotion of diversity and innovation in the Faculty will enable him to support faculty and staff and develop outstanding law graduates.
Please join us in offering Chris congratulations and support as he takes on this important leadership role at UWindsor.
