Windsor Law Faculty Author: Maureen Irish

Abstract: The WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement obtained over 110 ratifications and entered into force on 22 February 2017. The Agreement allows developing and least-developed countries to choose their own schedules for implementation of obligations. As well, implementation can be made conditional on the receipt of technical assistance to support the country’s capacity. These features are examples of techniques that may help the World Trade Organization to enhance the international trade of developing and least-developed countries, one of the objectives of the WTO.
