Professor John Cerone was an invited participant in an expert meeting in Geneva convened by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the subject of non-refoulement (the obligation not to return individuals to a place where there are substantial grounds to believe they will face serious human rights violations) on June 2. The purpose of the expert meeting was to advise the Office of the High Commissioner on the development of principles to be proposed at the upcoming UN General Assembly summit on mass migration, to be held in September of this year.
