John Cerone
Professor John Cerone gave the Keynote Address at a UN conference on Transitional Justice on March 24 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The topic of his speech was “The Right to Truth as a Norm of Soft Law”. The conference was attended by diplomats, academics, conflict victims, NGOs, and government officials. Professor Cerone gave the keynote address during the opening plenary, where he was seated on the panel with Nepal’s Cabinet Minister of Peace & Reconstruction, the Chairman of the Conflict Victims Common Platform (advocacy organization), and the head of UNDP Nepal. He also participated in the ribbon-cutting of the new Transitional Justice Resource Center and lit candles in memory of the victims of the war.
