Congratulations to our Dual JD moot teams!
Ten of our Dual JD students competed in the Patrick A. Keenan Memorial Appellate Advocacy Competition at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law alongside 30 other law students.
This annual competition is hosted by the UDM Moot Court Board of Advocates in honour of the late Professor Keenan, but this year's competition was particularly special as it marked the tenth-year anniversary of his passing and the competition. Our students absolutely shone.
Congratulations Amanda Iarusso, Aaliyah Madadi, Ashlee Common, Justin Smith, Kourtney Pratt, Jessica Pask, Benjamin Strickland, Alexandra Mealia, Fraser Chorley, Ivana Iwasykiw, Jennifer Singh and Jillian Brazda.
For the first time, a Dual JD student team - Amanda Iarusso (2L) and Aaliyah Madadi - won the competition. Amanda was also named Best Oralist. We featured strongly among the top ten oralists and best briefs and four teams advance to the quarter- and semi-finals.
