Team Leader: Rebecca Jane McAllister
What is your favourite sports team?
I don’t have one particular sports team I admire most. I really love anything and everything to do with soccer and dance (especially ballet)!
What is your most embarrassing moment? (keep it appropriate)
One time, in my Grade 12 Exercise Science class, we were watching an older movie about a high school basketball team (I believe we were supposed to be learning about the leadership component of the movie... Or something along those lines, aha). Our classroom had no windows, only the door out to the hallway with a little window (which was at the back of the classroom of course), so it was completely dark. It was first period and I was so extremely tired that day for some reason. The movie was so incredibly dry that I fell fast asleep! Of course my guidance counsellor needed me THAT day during THAT class, and had to wake me up in front of everyone to speak with me! The whole class died laughing! Luckily, my teacher had a sense of humour and knew that I was a highly academic student who never did anything like this... He teased me about it for weeks afterwards. Totally embarrassing.
What was your previous high school?
I graduated from O’Neill Collegiate and Vocational Institute as part of the Class of 2011
Where is your hometown?
My hometown is Oshawa, Ontario.
What made you choose Human Kinetics?
I’ve always loved the idea of alternative medicine, not your traditional physician, but your naturopathic doctors, chiropractors, massage therapists, and so on. I knew I wanted a career within this profession and decided that Kinesiology would help me achieve that! I love exercising and sports, especially dance and soccer, and believe that Kinesiology is the perfect fit for me! The program offered at Windsor is above all else and offers the most compared to all other university Kinesiology programs in my opinion.
Give a tip that helped you succeed through your first year of Human Kinetics?
Never allow yourself to fall behind. Once you are behind, there is no recovery time
