Where is your hometown?
Tecumseh, Ontario
What was your previous high school?
St. Anne’s Catholic High School
What made you choose Human Kinetics?
There were many reasons that made me choose HK. Not only is HK the best program on campus in my opinion, but by having an HK degree, you are open to a huge variety of careers in everything from medicine and rehabilitation to the front office of a professional sports team.
What do you like most about UWindsor HK program?
UWindsor HK is much more than simply a faculty, it’s a family. The family atmosphere at UWindsor HK has professors who care and are always open to help with anything you need, along with the sense of family between all of the students of HK. Meeting new people is always easy in HK.
What is your favourite sport or sports team?
Although I follow all sports, my favourite has to be Baseball. As for my favourite team, it would be the Detroit Tigers.
What is your favourite meal?
As simple as it is, pizza is my favourite.
Most embarrassing Moment?
Looking back on it now, it’s funny, but at the time, it was rather embarrassing. I’ve always played basketball and during one of the games in grade school when I was fairly new to the sport, I scored on my own basket on the first play of the game.
What did you find most challenging about the first year of HK?
The most challenging thing about first year HK for me was the difference in the need for time management compared to high school. Learning to manage the reading, class time, study time and your social life is an important adjustment. Once that adjustment was made, it became easier.
Give a tip that helped you succeed through your first year of Human Kinetics?
One tip I would give is to talk to your professors or GAs at the office hours which are held multiple times per week usually to answer any questions you have or to clarify anything you are not 100% sure of. The GAs are there to help you and many people do not utilize that great resource.
