“Bad Backs:  What Can We Learn from Basic Science to Help Foster a Healthier Workplace?”

 

Diane is an associate professor at Wilfrid Laurier University cross-appointed between the Department of Kinesiology & Physical Education and the Department of Health Sciences. She completed her PhD at the University of Waterloo and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California San Diego. Her research is in the area of spine biomechanics with emphasis on the intervertebral disc and spine injuries. Her research program includes basic cell and tissue mechanics but is also highly involved in occupational biomechanics and ergonomics, and in particular low back pain.
