In the latest edition of Great Lakes Moment, Dr. John Hartig points to a study by members of the Healthy Headwaters Lab at GLIER, which shows that a more broad, integrated approach to managing the Great Lakes is more able to support science based decision making. The study is entitled “An Ecosystem Approach: Strengthening the Interface of Science, Policy, Practice, and Management.” The authors of the study are John Hartig, research associate Fani Tsaroucha, post-doctoral fellow Ali Mokdad, professor emeritus Doug Haffner, and director of the Healthy Headwaters lab Catherine Febria.
