50 years after Canada and the U.S. signed the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement there have been improvements in many areas of the Great Lakes, including Lake Huron. An increase in bald eagles, reproducing peregrine falcons, osprey, lake sturgeon, lake whitefish, beaver and river otter (which had been gone since the fur trade era) are just some of the evidence of improvements says GLIER Visiting Scholar Dr. John Hartig.
