Community group Windsor Essex Sewing Force collaborated with GLIER/U. Windsor and was honoured at City Hall.

The community group Windsor Essex Sewing Force was honoured at Windsor City Hall for their work researching and producing 64,000 fabric masks which were donated to the community.  Their research was funded by WeSpark, the University of Windsor, and much of the materials and space were donated or purchased with funds from the City of Windsor and the public.  The research was carried out in collaboration with The University of Windsor, GLIER, St. Clair College, and Windsor Regional Hospital, to determine the best fabrics to use, and the best practices for making the masks, to ensure uniformity and the best function of the masks.

They also produced a community quilt which was installed at City Hall which honours the sacrifices and deciation of the community during the pandemic.
