Programmable Logic Controller
A programmable logic controller (PLC) is an industrial computer that has been ruggedized and adapted for the control of manufacturing processes. We have several SIMATIC S7 generation in our lab which are used for industrial automation and production training. The University of Windsor is collaborating with the Siemens Technik Akademie Berlin and offer world-class industry certificate through the Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Program (SMSCP) program.
Training Stations
This lab has several different training equipment for automation developed by the Festo company. Students obtain hands-on experience in planning, assembly, PLC programming, operation, maintenance, and fault finding.
