Electrical Engineering doctoral student Mohammed Islam received the Technical Paper Award at the 6th International Conference for Upcoming Engineers (ICUE) that was held at Ryerson University in May 2007. Islam's paper was selected among a pool of papers from other Canadian Universities, such as Ryerson, Toronto, Waterloo, McMaster, Dalhousie. The winning paper is related to Mohammed's dostoral research under the supervision of Dr. Majid Ahmadi and it sprang from one of his course projects with Dr. Jonathan Wu ("Machine Learning and Computer Vision").
