Requirement and guidance for submitting abstract for the presentation

1. Proposal Submission

Submissions for the 2025 GERC are now open. Proposals are due on Friday, December 6, 2024.

We welcome proposals from all graduate students across the University of Windsor campus who have a research interest in the field of education and submissions that can fit into our conference theme of Shaping the Future of Education: Trends and Transformations. Please use the following template to submit your proposal with the submission tool below. A 300 word abstract, as well as a session outline will need to be included.

2. Revise Papers

Once we’ve returned your submission, it is time to revise your presentation. The peer review process will include feedback and, possibly, specific suggestions for each submission. Carefully review the notes given and prepare your presentation accordingly.

Please note you may be asked to take reviewers’ feedback into account, and to revise and resubmit your proposal before a final decision is made.

3. Create Presentation

It is time to create your presentation! Get creative and have fun.

Please keep in mind that if your proposal is selected you will be required to:

Submit a 50 words abstract to be included in the program.
Register for the conference.

Presentation Formats

You can choose one of the three presentation formats for the conference. Have a look at which format best suits your research.

Research Sessions (20 minutes)

Research sessions should discuss applied research findings or explore innovative practices and programs. Interaction and participant engagement are key elements of these conference sessions, though there may be elements of more traditional presentations as well.

Roundtables

Roundtables provide opportunities for authors to share their research, perhaps in its earlier stages, in an informal setting, using a conversational approach with friends and colleagues who may be interested in your research topic. Accepted papers will be grouped into a virtual session of approximately three presenters. Each presenter will be assigned to a session, and each session will have a chair to facilitate participation. Each presenter will have 12-15 minutes to present, with a 5-8 minute question period following each presentation. Given the informal structure of the roundtable presentation, audio/visual aids will not be used.

Interactive Virtual Poster

Posters are a vibrant way to showcase research findings, innovative practices, and programs. To emphasize the value and importance of posters as a way to disseminate information, network with others interested in similar topics, and access rich feedback, an award will be presented for the best poster. Further information will be announced on the specifics of our virtual posters and how they will be showcased. We strongly encourage interactive, creative, and innovative approaches to poster presentations.

Ready To Submit Papers?

All paper submissions will be blind peer reviewed and evaluated based on originality, technical and/or research content/depth, correctness, relevance to conference, contributions, and readability. English is the official language of the conference. Submit your proposal.

Acceptances will be communicated to authors on Monday, January 27, 2025
