The University of Windsor Alumni Sports Hall of Fame will induct five standouts in a ceremony Nov. 24.
Ontario University Athletics has named Lancer Kyle Williamson a first-team all-star for the third straight year. Williamson ended the season fifth in kills with 219 and fourth in total points with 250.
Joining him on the all-star roster are Garrett May of Western, Ray Szeto of York, Jackson Dakin of Queen's, Zach Doherty of Waterloo, and Danny Demyanenko and Austin Campion-Smith of McMaster.
The OUA will honour the players during the opening night of the men’s volleyball final four tournament, February 22 in Hamilton.
Lancers took home more than half the hardware April 19, earning 12 of 23 Windsor-Essex County Sports Person of the Year (WESPY) Awards recognizing local athletes for their contributions to sports. The awards were based on accomplishments during the 2011 calendar year.
Jessica Clemençon brought home the evening’s top award as the female athlete of the year after a tremendous 2010/11 season in which she was named Canadian Interuniversity Sport female athlete of the year and helped lead Lancer women’s basketball to its first CIS championship.
