Plantings a reminder of donor support

It’s easy to convince colleagues to donate to the University through its Annual Giving Program, says volunteer canvasser Gene Hirt of the finance department.

“I just remind them they can choose where the money goes,” he says. “If they like the arts, give to the arts. If they have a daughter studying engineering, they can direct their gift to support engineering.”

Faculty, staff and retiree donors have received invitations to an appreciation reception on June 6. The one-hour event will begin at 2 p.m. in the Student Courtyard between Dillon and Memorial halls—rain or shine.

Reception to celebrate fruits of Annual Giving Program

The annual reception thanking employee donors to the University is always a wonderful occasion, says campaign chair Bruce Tucker.

“This is an opportunity for us to show appreciation to all the faculty and staff who have contributed and made the campaign such a huge success,” says Dr. Tucker, associate vice-president, academic. “We really hope that everyone will come out. It is so upbeat when so many people who are passionate about the University and supporting our students come out to celebrate.”

Month’s end to close 2012 campus giving campaign

Contributors to the Annual Giving Program who make their donations by April 30 will be credited with a gift to its 2012 Plant a Seed:  Here We Grow Again campaign, says chair Bruce Tucker.

“UWindsor employees and retirees who participate will receive an invitation to this spring’s donor recognition event,” Dr. Tucker says. “It is a tangible demonstration of the University’s appreciation of those faculty and staff members who go beyond their work efforts to support student success.”

It’s not too late to make a gift that will help University of Windsor students—and receive a 2012 charitable tax receipt.

“In the spirit of the holiday season, we take a moment to count our blessings and express our thanks,” says development officer Mona Dosen of University Advancement. “One way we can give back is to support our students, helping to secure their success as they learn and grow in 2013.”

Employee fundraising campaign hoping to repeat successes

Deb Dayus is proud of her work as a volunteer canvasser for the Annual Giving Program.

“The campaign most certainly has a clear and positive impact on the work we do, in the lives of our students, and the University of Windsor community as  whole,” the nursing professor told colleagues gathered Wednesday on the lawn outside Memorial Hall.

A lunch reception launched the 2012 campaign, which invites support from University employees for student scholarships, campus improvements, teaching and research programs.
