The University of Windsor Students’ Alliance will hold a referendum in March asking members to support a universal bus pass, president André Capaldi announced Monday.
Under the U-Pass proposal outlined by Capaldi, full-time undergraduates would pay $45 a semester, increasing over five years to $57.50 a semester, and would receive a pass for service on all Transit Windsor bus routes.
This represents a significant savings over the current student rate of $55 per month, Capaldi said.

A re-splice of the telecommunications cable to Cartier Hall will leave that building without landline phone service for part of Wednesday, February 15, reports Facility Services.
The work is in preparation for the demolition of the former Drama Building, says project administrator Mark Rudkin: “All the telephones are fed from the old drama building to Cartier, but we’re rewiring around it.”
He has also scheduled a fire watch for Wednesday, since the work involves a fire alarm outage.

Campus employers hoping to create summer positions under the province’s Summer Experience Program must submit their proposals no later than 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 22, to Donna Menna, acting career development coordinator at the Center for Career Education.
The goal of the program is to provide entry-level work experience for Ontario youth to develop transferable career related skills. Positions must focus on activities such as customer service, regulatory or legislative requirements, policy and program delivery, information technology, and service contract management.
