The Eastern Canada Campus Recreation Conference continues through Friday on the UWindsor campus.
The University received a Healthy Workplace Award for its leadership in promoting healthy lifestyles Wednesday.
Campus Recreation is offering free sessions during Mental Health Awareness Week, January 14 to 18, allowing students and employees to try out a variety of fitness and instructional classes.
UWindsor employees can check out lunchtime fitness classes in the Education Gym, between the CAW Student Centre and the University Computer Centre, weekdays at 12:10 p.m.
A noon-hour walking club is aimed at getting UWindsor faculty and staff out of their offices and on their feet, says organizer Frank Jeney, a fitness coordinator at the Forge.
The club is free to join; participants meet each Monday and Wednesday in front of the CAW Student Centre to walk from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m., “early enough to get back to work,” notes Jeney.
He is encouraging employees to engage in some healthy competition between departments.
