UWindsor grads to carry on Catholic Campus Ministry

Two UWindsor grads working for Assumption University have pledged to carry on the work of Campus Ministry as chaplain Rev. Chris Valka prepares to take up a posting in Toronto.

“Campus Ministry will continue to provide a rich experience of spiritual, liturgical, educational, and social opportunities for students,” says Thomas Dula, faith formation coordinator.

Assumption University to honour two at spring convocation

Assumption University will confer honorary doctor of laws degrees on Samuel John Ciccolini and Julian Fantino during its convocation ceremony Friday, May 10, at 8 p.m. in Assumption University Chapel.

Assumption University is the Roman Catholic university federated with the University of Windsor. In addition to honorary degrees, it will confer master's degrees in pastoral ministry upon four graduates of its department of theology.

UWindsor faculty and staff eligible for half-price admission to classical Christmas concert

Assumption University is offering UWindsor faculty and staff a discount on tickets to see Northern Ireland’s classical music trio, The Priests, at the WFCU Centre on Friday, December 7.

The singing group consists of three Roman Catholic priests: Eugene O’Hagan, Martin O’Hagan and David Delargy, whose albums have achieved platinum-level sales in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Norway and Sweden, and gold sales in Canada, New Zealand and Spain.

Campus Ministry dinner to feature Iron Chef-style competition

Diners will be the judges during an Iron Chef-style cooking competition at Assumption University on Monday, February 6.

Three teams will compete to use a secret ingredient in the tastiest and most creative dishes during Campus Ministry’s Monday dinner. For just $2, student diners can try all three meals and pick their favourites.

Set to start at 6 p.m. in the Freed-Orman Centre, the event follows 5:30 p.m. Mass in Assumption University Chapel. Find more information on the Facebook events page.
