As the Lancer football team opens the 2013 campaign this weekend, fans should be looking for it to build on back-to-back playoff appearances, says head coach Joe D’Amore.
“We are returning a number of starters, including our all-star quarterback Austin Kennedy,” he says. “With a good core of veterans and some young players ready to accept their new roles this season, we feel like we can compete with every team in the OUA as long as we stay healthy and continue to prepare hard for each game.”
The Lancers, who went 3-5 last year to finish fifth in the province, will host the Waterloo Warriors (eighth place finishers last year) Sunday, August 25, on Alumni Field. Kick-off is at 1 p.m.
