All-star hitter Pierce Johnson and the Lancer men’s volleyball team will compete this weekend in the provincial title tournament.
The Lancer men’s volleyball team is one of four competing for the provincial championship Forsyth Cup, this weekend in Kingston.
Windsor will meet McMaster in a semi-final contest at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9. Toronto and Queen’s will play in the second semi-final, with the winners of each match facing off for the title at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Ontario University Athletics named four Lancers as volleyball all-stars.
Outside hitter Pierce Johnson boasts a .319 hitting percentage, second in the province; middle blocker John Moate tops the league with 70 blocks. Both are first-team all-stars.
On the women’s side, middle blocker Ally Winik was named to the all-rookie team, an honour paid last year to setter Brooke Davis. Both players were named second-team 2019 all-stars.
