It’s a great way to relax before final exams. Leslie Hernandez, a first-year chemistry student, won yesterday’s DailyNews trivia contest and earned two tickets to see the University Players production of The Importance of Being Earnest.
Hernandez’ name was drawn from all respondents who correctly matched the play’s quotation to its speaker:
- “A high moral tone can hardly be said to conduce very much to either one’s health or one’s happiness.” — Jack Worthing
- “I don’t quite like women who are interested in philanthropic work. I think it is so forward of them.” — Cecily Cardew
- “I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train.” — Gwendolen Fairfax
- “Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone.” — Lady Augusta Bracknell
- “The truth is rarely pure and never simple.” — Algernon Moncrieff
The University Players production of The Importance of Being Earnest continues through Sunday at Essex Hall Theatre. For information or tickets, call 519-253-3000, ext. 2808, or visit www.universityplayers.com.
