Earth Sciences professor Frank Simpson will act as master of ceremonies for the annual dinner of the Polish-Canadian Business and Professional Association of Windsor on Friday, November 23, at the Caboto Club. The event promises guests an informative and entertaining mixture of wisdom from years of experience in politics and youthful enthusiasm with distinctive, Polish flair.
A VIP reception will take place at 5:30 p.m. in the Library Room and the dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. Polish food will be provided by the Crossroads Café, and wines by the Aleksander Estate Winery.
The keynote speaker will be Windsor-Tecumseh MP Joe Comartin, recently elected deputy speaker of the House of Commons. Guests will be entertained by the Tatry Song and Dance Ensemble, a Polish folk group, and will see the debut of a new look for “The Odyssey of Wawel’s Treasures,” an exhibition of priceless artifacts transported from the Kraków’s Wawel Royal Castle to Canada for safekeeping during the Second World War.
Tickets are $65 per person; contact Jerry Barycki at 519-256-4172 or via e-mail at jerrybarycki@gmail.com.
