The eTuition Waiver launched this week will allow current employees to make online applications for the tuition waiver benefit program.
The online form interfaces with records from the Human Resources System and the Student Information System, eliminating much of the verification work done by hand under the old system.
“Our goal was to enhance the services we provide and streamline the approach all the while being more environmentally friendly,” says Cheryl Paglione, director of employee services in Human Resources.
The eTuition Waiver process is available only to active employees, their spouses and dependents; a new electronic form in fillable PDF is available for other eligible recipients. Full details and access to the applicable forms are available on the Human Resources benefits Web pages.
With fees due August 15 for fall semester, Paglione asks applicants to submit the form by August 10 to avoid incurring late fee penalties. Those who have already sent in the previous paper application forms do not need to re-apply—Human Resources staff will process their applications. Following the launch of eTuition Waiver, the use of paper applications will be discontinued.
Getting the new system operational involved contributions from Information Technology Services and the cashiers office as well as her department, says Paglione.
“It really took an incredible amount of work from the IT Services staff to make our vision a reality,” she says. “They have been wonderful to work with and proven so creative in their approach.”
