University of Windsor employees are now eligible for the ValuPass program, which offers discounted passes from Transit Windsor, the city’s bus service.

The monthly passes are available for $81.35, a 15 per cent savings on the regular price of $95.70. Riders may specify terms of four or six months, or continuous monthly renewal. Each pass must be accompanied by a photo ID issued by Transit Windsor at a one-time cost of $5.

Sociology professor Tanya Basok, the University’s environmental sustainability advocate, hailed the service for providing an alternative to driving to work.

“Our public transit system is a greener way to get around the city,” she said. “This new employee discount makes it even more attractive.”
