Getting paid to talk on the phone should be a dream job for some UWindsor students, but Shae Kavanaugh, co-ordinator of the Annual Giving Program, is selective in hiring only the best for the alumni phonathon.
“Successful applicants will be enthusiastic, motivated, looking for a challenge, and have a clear speaking voice,” she says. “They must have confidence to speak with UWindsor grads to encourage their financial support of the University and to update their personal information for our records.”
The student canvassers work part-time right on campus: evenings Monday through Thursday, and Sundays 1 to 8 p.m. The phonathon runs March 5 to April 2, and there is mandatory training March 3 and 4.
To apply, e-mail a resume to Kavanaugh at shae@uwindsor.ca by February 2.
