Ten top students in music will take up their instruments Sunday in the 2017 Ron W. Ianni Memorial Performance Scholarship Competition.
Named to honour the late president of the University of Windsor, the annual award is open only to full-time students enrolled in a music degree program; competitors were invited based on their outstanding grades in the December music performance juries.
This year’s contenders include Lilly Korkontzelos - jazz/pop vocalist; Sebastian Bachmeier - jazz/pop instrumentalist; Celina Bechard and Angelica Sciacca - classical voice; Emilian Cailean – clarinet; Preston Leschnya – trumpet; Henry Breitkopf – tuba; pianists Logan Adlam and Mary-Valene Daniel; and classical guitarist Daniel Turner.
