A team of students from the Odette School of Business has finished third in a cross-province competition of accounting “soft skills” – teamwork, negotiation, communication, and time management – sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario at its Toronto headquarters January 7.
It was only the second year the University of Windsor has sent a team to the CA$H Competition, meant to highlight aspects of the profession beyond number-crunching. The three-member squad: Vedant Pandey, Robert Cancian and Brandon Ouellette, finished third in a 42-team field, sharing a $750 prize.
“I think that it is a remarkable achievement, considering that we were competing against the top-notch schools with some of the most prestigious accounting programs in all of Canada,” said Pandey. “I think this goes to show the value of interpersonal skills, and ethical business conduct not just in the CA profession but also in the business world as a whole.”
